It challenges all your abdominal muscles in various ways. It uses the plank position to work the tranverse abs and Pilates for the core. Basic aerobics and normal crunches/curls round up your ab work.
Like its title, it focuses completely on your stomach and is broken up into five 10 minute sections (5 mini workouts!).
I could definitely feel the muscles being targeted during the workout and it was quite challenging at times. The first time I tried it, I was sore the next day and after 3 sessions I could notice a slight flattening of my stomach, which is awesome.
Unlike most ab workouts, this one focuses a lot on the obliques and transversus area which allows you to hack away fat by working the innermost ab muscle. It can be challenging for you if you don’t exercise your abs often but trust me when stick with this one because you’ll love the results!
Some of the exercises take a few tries to get used to but none of them are really difficult to perform. Each five mini-workout is different from the other and you have the choice of choosing how many of them you want to do.
You can alternate between each workout every few days or stick to one you like best and do it every few times a week. The variety here keeps its fresh and you don’t ever get bored of doing the workout. For example some days I will do two workouts when I’m focusing on toning and sometimes I’ll only do one after a tiring run.
I really like the concept of being able to pull out the DVD and spend 10 minutes blasting my stomach and working up a sweat because of it. Very useful if you like to target your belly a lot more often than other parts of your body, which may not need so much work.
Suzanne Bowen is the instructor and she’s a joy to work with. She is far from annoying and has a cheerful face/voice which isn’t too fake. She is very good at giving you pointers on specific form and excels in showing you modifications of exercises so beginners need not worry at all.
The real winner here is the way the DVD is formatted. 10 minute segments are terrific because you can do them when you’re busy or integrate them seamlessly into other workout routines. No need to sit through a 40 minute DVD.
To conclude, I’ve had the 10 Minutes Solution – Blast Off Belly Fat DVD for months and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you get it if you’re interested in sculpting your belly and reducing the fat around the area. Maintain a healthy diet and this WILL work wonders. Try it for yourself!
