The Brazil Butt Lift workout is pretty popular on the web and I initially thought it was overhyped but I decided to give it a try. This is a 3 DVD workout system which features mostly aerobic style workouts with some dance and cardio thrown in. There are 5 main workouts included..
1. Bum Bum: Mostly cardio workout that lasts 35 minutes. Excellent for working up a sweat and I love the energy of it. Features some squats, lunges and side steps. Innovative and fun!
2. High & Tight: This 35 minute workout features the use of ankle weights and a resistance band. A free pair of resistance band comes with the DVD package. I really recommend getting ankle weights though, it makes a ton of difference and it really makes my body ache and burn in a fantastic way. I never used to like ankle weights until I finally found up how well they work in this dvd workout.
3. Sculpting. Pretty cool 45 minute without using light hand weights. It’s a great workout with a nice floor work where you lie down and use resistance bands to work your butt and thigh. I love this one.
4. Cardio Axe – This one is non-stop movement where you’re stepping back and forth and actually dancing in some bits. I love this when I just want to sweat and feel good. Really high energy stuff that’s sure to get you pumped. No resistance bands or weights. 45 minutes.
5. Tummy Tuck. This is a 15 minute ab workout that is actually rather tough. I thought they would just breeze through it but there are some interesting floor work here where they even leg raises and a signature brazilian tummy tuck combo. Really efficient workout to tone the abs and remove the layers of belly fat. I love doing this before the other longer works just to get my core heated up and ready.
Now some general comments on the program itself. I love the energy of Leandro, the instructor. He’s always so bubbly and warm. Never harsh and definitely not a drill master like Jillian Michaels. He is exuberant and full of positive vibes, which rubs off on you when you do the workout. I really like that he’s smiling so much in the videos.
And the fitness models in the workout dvds are JUST GORGEOUS. These are girls with perfect bodies, tight abs and amazingly toned butts. The camera zooms in now and then to their butts and I always feel a little inspired and envious at the same time because they look AMAZING. One thing I really like about working out to the DVDs is that I can motivate myself to get bodies like that and that pushes me to keep on working and using the dvds.
Part of the dvd was filmed on a sunny beach and part of it is in the studio. The music is the usual high energy aerobic style tunes. Does the Brazil Butt Lift work? Yes, Yes, Yes! I cannot see how this wouldn’t tone up your butt since it really attacks all the problem areas like our female thighs, butt and tummy all at once. My butt looks and feels MUCH tighter/rounder now and I’ve been getting compliments from my boyfriend, which is always a plus. He actually told me that I had an ‘awesome bubble butt’ which is kind of a naughty compliment but it made me smile for days.
What didn’t I like about it? This is a BeachBody international product and boy, do I hate their informercials. They love to put informercials of their other products at the end of the dvds and that’s annoying. I usually just ignore them and turn the dvd off immediately after the workout. It’s irrelevant to the quality of the Brazil Butt Lift workout (which is a great dvd) but BeachBody, if you’re reading this… we all hate informercials!
All in all, this is a fantastic workout collection and it’ll be in my weekly workout routine rotation for a long time. Highly recommended. If you’re on edge and still deciding, just pull the trigger and buy it. I’m absolutely sure you won’t regret it.
