Dance with Julianne: Cardio Ballroom Review

I love working out at the gym, but sometimes it’s nice to do something a little different.  Dance with Julianne: Cardio Ballroom allows me to do just that.  This DVD is hosted by Dancing with the Stars’ Julianne Hough.  She leads you through a 55 minute dance workout that gets your heart pumping and blood moving.  She incorporates several styles of ballroom dancing, including Cha-Cha and Jive.   There’s a warm-up and cool down included, plus a bonus dance lesson to help everyone get acquainted with the different steps used throughout the workout.

Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation System DVD Set Review

I’ve been looking for a cardio series I can do at home for a while, so I was pretty excited when I saw the Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation System DVD Set.  It looked like it was exactly what I was looking for.  I tend to work my way through exercise DVDs pretty quickly, so the fact that the set comes with four DVDs is great.  The six workouts hit every part of the body.  Even though I’m in pretty good shape I was definitely feeling the burn the next morning!   The maraca-like toning sticks were a really fun addition.  They gave the workout a unique flair that I’ve never seen before – I loved them!

The Complete Collection of Sweatin’ to the Oldies Review

The Complete Collection of Sweatin’ to the Oldies teaches you how to lose weight by dancing to the classic music in the 80s. The music is inspiring and suitable for people at all ages. The video features Richard Simmons as the main trainer. What’s interesting is that the songs are not just pre-recorded stuff, there’s actually a live band that’s singing them! Kinda bizarre for a workout video.

Dance with Julianne: Cardio Ballroom Review

Dance with Julianne: Cardio Ballroom is dance queen Julianne’s latest dance workout offering. I personally love Julianne Hough’s adorable personality. It is sheer pleasure listen and follow her Julianne’s clear and easily replicate instructions.

Juliaane is expressive yet down to earth and she knows how to show you a good time to a productive and fun workout. Julianne’s choice of dance moves and music is wonderfully coordinated with tempo building up from in a smooth flow from start to finish. I really enjoyed sweating buckets doing the cha-cha and jive and feeling the leg and hip areas getting tone with each twist and turn.

Samba Reggae Workout DVD Review

The Samba Reggae Workout is actually an intense body workout (despite it being a ‘dance’ exercise video). If you don’t believe it, you gotta try it! This DVD is well worth above its price. It begins with a good thorough warm up session targeting important muscle groups necessary for this intense dance.

Initially Quenia (the instructor) breaks down the basic steps for samba reggae and their variations..

This footwork is fast paced. The choreography is lengthy as it is being layed out but when set to the drumming, it will go by rather quickly.

10 Minute Solution: Fat Blasting Dance Mix DVD Review

I like the 10 Minute Solution: Fat Blasting Dance Mix DVD because I find it convenient enough to use it throughout the day. I can do a quick mini-workout in the morning to get my blood pumping, another some time in the afternoon and one before bedtime. And I know I’ve exercised 30 minutes in total that day, without the pressure of overexerting myself in one go.

You can do anything for just 10 minutes! Even if you’re tired, you never have time to think “God, how long until it’s over?”

Luscious – BellyDance Workout for Beginners DVD Review

I loved the Luscious Belly Dance Workout for Beginners DVD. It was my first time doing a belly dancing workout and I tried not to pressure myself to get everything right at the first try. Just followed the tutorial and learned slowly.

The routines presented in this dvd were great! The instructional section really breaks down each move to ensure the viewer understands the dynamics behind each belly dance step.

New York City Ballet: The Complete Workout DVD Review

Though I have taken many dance classes, including ballet, I still found the New York City Ballet: Complete Workout DVD challenging the first few times I did it. I felt and saw results (mostly in my legs/glutes) after completing volume 1 for the first time. I’ve never been one for traditional workouts.
