Yin Yoga: The Foundations of a Quiet Practice Review

This purchase has been an introduction to yoga for me.  A friend of mine has been raving about the benefits of yoga for years, and I decided to give it a try.  When I read about everything that’s included with Yin Yoga: The Foundations of a Quiet Practice, I felt it was the perfect starter plan.  It comes with a lecture on the theory of Yin Yoga, which is great because it helps you understand what yin yoga is all about.  As a person who’s into competitive sports and fitness, yoga is a real switch for me.  In total you get 5 ½ hours of terrific material.

Rodney Yee Power Yoga Total Body Workout DVD Review

A friend recommended that I try Rodney Yee’s Power Yoga – Total Body Workout DVD and she told me that it was a great workout but one that doesn’t totally exhaust you. So I got the dvd and gave it a try.

I do enjoy Yoga although I’m certainly not an expert at it. What I like about Yoga is the fact that you don’t have to jump around and do a ton of squats and lunges. It’s very low-impact but at the same time, just the actions of holding a challenging pose will make you sweat buckets and burn that fat off.

MTV Power Yoga DVD Review

MTV Power Yoga
Retail Price: $14.98
Amazon Price: $7.99
I’ll be honest. I didn’t think much off MTV Power Yoga when I first saw it in the video store. It’s MTV after all and that doesn’t seem to really go well with the holistic discipline of Yoga. I thought it’ll be another crappy Yoga-inspired video but boy was I wrong!

MTV Power Yoga is actually a fantastic workout in many ways and it really challenged me even though I was relatively familiar with a LOT of yoga dvds.

Fat Free Yoga – Lose Weight & Feel Great for Beginners and Beyond DVD Review

This Fat Free Yoga DVD workout is like a breath of fresh air. I would describe it as a kind of yoga calisthenics. I love everything about it, the production is top notch, the music is interesting, and the instructor is beautiful, genuine and likeable.

It is just perfect. The moves are basic, simple, but the movement’s repetition makes it challenging and I appreciated the rest in between moves. After wards, I felt invigorated, physically and emotionally.

Power Yoga – Total Body Workout DVD Review

I purchased the Power Yoga:Total Body Workout DVD three years ago and, although I own many yoga DVDs, I have used this workout for quite a few times. “Power Yoga” is, as advertised, an excellent, total body workout — albeit not one for beginners — with just the right amount of instruction and no irritating “pep talks” or celebrity prattling: in other words, real yoga.
