The Crunch Super Slimdown Pilates Yoga workout is terrific! It’s a 40 minute session which starts with some breathing exercises and backbends before moving into some yoga poses before moving into floor or mat-based Pilates exercises.

True to its title, it includes a good mix of classic Pilates exercises as well as Yoga and normal toning methods. It’s not too difficult to do and has a refreshing feel to it.

Ellen Barrett is fantastic as an teacher because she has a great voice that offers very clear instruction. She isn’t too cheery but she’s very motivational and does all her cueing on time.

The DVD itself is broken down into 4 sections and you can choose specific parts of it to play, its a good flowing combination of Yog and Pilates throughout the DVD. I was in a decent condition but still broke a sweat while doing the program.

In the beginning I found the music a little too fast but soon got used to it. There’s not a lot of attention to form so purists might find that a little inadequate but I thought the exercises were quite easy to follow.

This program has easily become one of my favorite DVDs! And it is one I actually don’t mind doing even on my lazy days…those days when you feel you should do some exercise but wanting to put it off. This video is definitely a keeper for days when I am not up to the challenge of a more advanced workout or after a good run/cardio session.

Final Verdict: Highly Recommended Even if You Don’t Like Yoga or Pilates

This video is great for beginners and even intermediate and leaves me feeling energized and happy every time I do it. A mid-beginner to early-intermediate comfortable workout.

Perfect if you’re the type who exercises reluctantly and despises overenthusiastic routines shouted to pounding background noise. This workout will leave you comfortably damp but not totally exhausted. Recommended!
