The first 10 minutes of the video involves a warm-up routine where you’re actively doing light squats, lunges and lateral movements to get your muscles warm and heart rate up. No jumping jacks. Nothing harsh on your knees. After that’s done, you’ll start by holding a pair of hand weights and doing deadlifts, squats and lunges.
Yes, deadlifts! When was the last time you did a butt workout dvd with deadlift (specifically romanian deadlift) exercises? This isn’t really your usual butt workout that’s for sure. I LOVED doing the deadlifts. If you put your mind in the back of the heel and really concentrate, you’ll get a heck of a workout.
After the 30 minute standing workout, it’s time for 19 minutes of floor work. Basically, you’ll lie down here and raise your legs in different angles and positions to pulse and work your butt/back. It’s challenging but the fact that you get to lie all the way down makes it somewhat relaxing as well, while allowing to isolate and focus on your butt. The ending includes a very short abs section, which is understandable considering this isn’t really an abs or full-body workout.
The only downside was the cool-down stretching. It was definitely too short and after the video ended, I needed to do some extra stretching on my own to release all the tension fully. Right now I’m still feeling a slight ache in my butt-check which is golden, I LOVE that feeling… because you know you’re doing something right! This butt workout ranks right up there with the Brazil Butt Lift and Lotte Berk workouts, both of which are butt-intensive.
Give this a try if you’re looking for a really satisfying butt (and leg) workout. You won’t be disappointed.
