I love warming up at home with some yoga on chilly days. Body By Bethenny with Bethenny Frankel is a great DVD to help me do this. This DVD comes with three workouts: a 40 minute yoga program, a ten minute strength training segment, and a five minute booty blast that tightens and firms your behind.

This workout takes great pains to be something that fits into an everyday lifestyle.  The yoga segment works out all major muscle groups while increasing flexibility.  It’s a nice little all-in-one DVD that stays interesting without being too intense.

I love working out at the gym, but during the winter months I’d rather stay at home if I can.  I’ve loved Jillian Michaels’ other workout DVDs, so I decided to give Jillian Michaels: 6 Week Six-Pack a try.  I expected a challenging work out and I was not disappointed.  I’m a bit of a fitness nut and am in pretty good shape, but I was definitely feeling it the next day!  The DVD contains two dynamic thirty minute workouts alongside warm-ups and cool downs. The workouts stay interesting through a combination of core-focused cardio circuits and ab-toning exercises.

I’ve been looking for a cardio series I can do at home for a while, so I was pretty excited when I saw the Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation System DVD Set.  It looked like it was exactly what I was looking for.  I tend to work my way through exercise DVDs pretty quickly, so the fact that the set comes with four DVDs is great.  The six workouts hit every part of the body.  Even though I’m in pretty good shape I was definitely feeling the burn the next morning!   The maraca-like toning sticks were a really fun addition.  They gave the workout a unique flair that I’ve never seen before – I loved them!

I love doing workout videos at home when I can’t make it to the gym, but I wanted to try something a little more intense than my usual dance videos.  Power 90 In-Home Boot Camp was exactly what I was looking for.  It offered me more of a challenge than I was used to and made for a great supplement to the gym.  The package came with two workout DVDs with eight workouts and two supplemental routines. It also included a Power Sculpting Band to add more resistance to the moves.  Finally, there were a collection of helpful Bonus Tools to track weight loss and other successes.

This purchase has been an introduction to yoga for me.  A friend of mine has been raving about the benefits of yoga for years, and I decided to give it a try.  When I read about everything that’s included with Yin Yoga: The Foundations of a Quiet Practice, I felt it was the perfect starter plan.  It comes with a lecture on the theory of Yin Yoga, which is great because it helps you understand what yin yoga is all about.  As a person who’s into competitive sports and fitness, yoga is a real switch for me.  In total you get 5 ½ hours of terrific material.

I’m a bit of a nut when it comes to fitness and got Insanity: The Ultimate Cardio Workout and Fitness DVD Program because reviewers described it as brutal.  I was intrigued and ordered it and haven’t been sorry.  What I found is that Shaun T is a terrific workout coach with unbelievable stamina for workouts that cause others on the video to drop like flies.  You’ll need to follow the Elite Nutrition Plan that’s included with the workout or some other diet plan that will refuel your body.  These workouts –even the warm-ups – are intense, and your body will need proper nutrition with extreme refueling ability.

Oh boy, this workout is tough as hell. And I mean that in a good way. Because it works like gangbusters… after doing the workout I already feel leaner and healthier. Released in October 2010 and designed for busy people with little time everyday, this 30 minute Xtreme Timesaver training DVD by Jackie Warner is awesome. If you haven’t tried Jackie’s exercise videos, I highly recommend that you give them a shot.

I just did this workout a few hours ago and boy, do I love it! A friend of mine lent me her copy of the Janis Saffell Brand New Butt Workout and I decided to give it a try. While it’s advertised as a butt routine, it does work your entire body and you’ll feel great after wards. It’s not one of those crazy aerobic routines where you have to bounce all over the room and kick-box + lunge your way into a toned body. This is a challenging workout but not too tough at all.
