SWAT Workout Extreme Weight Loss and Fat Burning DVD Review

This workout is excellent! Crafted by a real SWAT member, it features a lot of the usual military type workouts like push-ups, mountain climbers, squat thursts, jumping jacks and lateral leaps. It’s challenging and it really makes you breathe hard and sweat.

The instructor, Tom has created a great program that is highly customizable and it will work wonders for stripping the fat for your body.

Tom isn’t a drill sergeant kinda instructor and more of a down to earth guy, the vibe is good and he’s not annoying at all. I liked that it provided a good mix of interval training which switches exercises fast while working all the major muscle group. The bonus ab workout (6 minutes) was wonderful and its a quite way to hammer the abs when you don’t have time.

This workout is quite similar to Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred in that it’s non-stop action, you move all the time and it does work very well when you’re looking for a quick workout that definitely works to burn off fat/calories. The combination of strength training and cardio is useful especially when you’re the type who doesn’t like to just strut around and do aerobics.

The cardio portion of the workout is around 30 minutes long and there’s a fun digital display at the screen bottom which shows how many reps are remaining and what exercise is next, which is useful. There’s a lot of eye-candy too, the workout demonstrators are all attractive women in shorts (except for Tom) which may make this dvd extra welcoming for guys.

swat workout dvd reviewTom does sometimes miss the count but that’s not really a problem when you’re keeping track in your head. The only other problem is that the DVD isn’t highly customizable in that you can switch from different workout types with a press of a button… this is mainly a pop-it-in and work through the whole thing workout. The lack of routines doesn’t bother me because I’m keen on working through the entire DVD for maximum benefits.

Final Verdict: A Workout that Delivers

SWAT workout is a workout that delivers on its promises. Given its high intensity and circuit style training, its an excellent way to burn fat fast within the short period of 50 minutes. The instructor is friendly, non-annoying and the workout in general is very well filmed/designed. Recommended!
